“It is not the hardest route in the world, it is simply the hardest ‘sport’ route I have climbed. It has a long history and it starts when I first wondered what those places where the sun goes to die every night could be like. Eternit is hidden right up there, in a solitary and forgotten environment of these mountains, small and vertically démodé halfway between the places where I was born and those where I have lived”.
