In a motorway area in northern Italy, Aurora, an 18-year-old girl prostitutes herself at night inside parked trucks. Her brother Angiolino acts as her lookout despite his slight mental handicap. Aurora hopes to earn enough money to run away with her brother and change her life. One night, however, Aurora cannot cope with Angiolino’s sex drive and is threatened by her brother’s violent behaviour.
Juliette Riccaboni, born in 1990, Swiss and Italian citizen, studied cinema at HEAD-Genève and graduated in 2014. Les îles des Brissogne is her first work as a director, premiered at the Locarno Film Festival and screened in competition at the Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur. In addition to directing, he is also involved in writing, casting direction and lighting technique.
