This is the journey of writer Paolo Cognetti and his friend Nicola as they travel by camper van to Alaska. Through the images shot during the journey and the fragments of dialogue between the two friends, the journey turns into the personal journey that Cognetti takes backwards to discover his roots as a writer and as a man.

Paolo Cognetti, born in Milan in 1978, author of The Eight Mountains (Premio Strega), translated into over 40 countries. His books include Sofia si veste sempre di nero, Il ragazzo selvatico, Senza mai arrivare in cima and La felicità del lupo. The film based on The Eight Mountains won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival and four David di Donatello awards, including Best Film.
