In the shadow of the majestic profile of Monte Cervino, two extraordinary personalities from seemingly distant worlds give rise to a memorable encounter in the name of a shared passion for mountains and beauty. The musician Mario Brunello and the mountaineer Nives Meroi devote themselves together to an unusual undertaking: to bring one of the pearls of Bach’s music, the Sarabande from Suite No. 6, to the heart of the Alps.

Luca Bich, a native of Aosta in the Italian Alps, graduated from the University of Bologna with a thesis on Jean Rouch, French filmmaker and visual anthropologist. He directs ethnographic documentaries in different parts of the world, including Ireland, Kyrgyzstan and Burkina Faso, as well as the Alps. His film Verso dove, about the famous mountaineer Kurt Diemberger, won international recognition and distribution in France with Filigranowa.

Gianluca Rossi, who graduated in film directing in Paris and theatre directing in Rome, has directed plays, films and television programmes. He made his debut in 2008 with Ho ammazzato Berlusconi. His most recent works include the documentaries Mare Carbone (2015), awarded at Torino CinemAmbiente, and Se Ho Vinto, Se Ho Perso (2020), winner of the Audience Award at the PerSo-Perugia Social Film Festival and selected in numerous international festivals.
