A journey into the world of a contemporary artist who has made street theatre his form of expression in the vertical. The film, in the form of a documentary road movie, tells the story of Antoine Le Menestrel, a strong climber in the 1980s, in the stages of his tour in Italy and France, between 2007 and 2009.
Luca Bich, a native of Aosta in the Italian Alps, graduated from the University of Bologna with a thesis on Jean Rouch, French filmmaker and visual anthropologist. He directs ethnographic documentaries in different parts of the world, including Ireland, Kyrgyzstan and Burkina Faso, as well as the Alps. His film Verso dove, about the famous mountaineer Kurt Diemberger, won international recognition and distribution in France with Filigranowa.
Gianluca Rossi, who graduated in film directing in Paris and theatre directing in Rome, has directed plays, films and television programmes. He made his debut in 2008 with Ho ammazzato Berlusconi. His most recent works include the documentaries Mare Carbone (2015), awarded at Torino CinemAmbiente, and Se Ho Vinto, Se Ho Perso (2020), winner of the Audience Award at the PerSo-Perugia Social Film Festival and selected in numerous international festivals.
